GRP Products for Saudi Arabia
Spark Fiberglass makes GRP (glass-reinforced plastic) products for industries across Saudi Arabia: tanks, pipes, manholes, gratings, pultrusion products, and portable toilets. They are used in water, wastewater, chemical, construction, and infrastructure work. This page shows which products fit each sector and what to ask any supplier before you order.
It is written for procurement managers, contractors, facility managers, and municipal buyers who know their industry and need the right product.

Which industries use GRP products in Saudi Arabia?
GRP products are used where corrosion, weight, or chemical exposure causes problems for steel and concrete. Spark Fiberglass supplies products for water treatment and storage, wastewater, chemical storage, oil and gas, construction, infrastructure, transportation, and energy, across industrial, municipal, and commercial projects.
GRP is a glass-fiber-reinforced composite that does not rust. Our guide, what is FRP/GRP, explains the material, how it is made, and its limits.
GRP products for industries: product matrix
Use this table to find your sector, the GRP products Spark Fiberglass makes for it in Saudi Arabia, and what to ask for before you order. Each row links to the product page.

| Water storage (potable, municipal, buildings) | GRP water tanks, including sectional tanks | Which Gulf standard the tank is built to, and the evidence |
| Wastewater and septic | Septic tanks, manholes | Capacity, buried or above-ground use, access |
| Fire water storage | Fire water tanks | The approval your authority requires, and the evidence |
| Chemical storage and industrial process | Chemical tanks, pipes | A chemical resistance chart and the resin type |
| Oil and gas | Specialized tanks, fuel tanks | Your client’s specification, and what the supplier can show against it |

Water storage: potable, municipal, and building supply
GRP water tanks serve municipal networks, large buildings, and industrial sites. Spark Fiberglass makes GRP water tanks, including sectional tanks, for uses such as high-rise buildings, hotels, hospitals, and industrial facilities. For drinking water, ask which standard the tank is built to and request the documentation.
The Gulf Cooperation Council Standardization Organization (GSO) lists two standards for GRP potable water tanks:
- GSO 2443:2014: GRP tanks for underground potable water storage, made with polyester resins, for use below 66 °C.
- GSO 2450:2014: cylindrical and rectangular GRP tanks, including sectional tanks, for above-ground potable water storage for domestic use.
These are Gulf standards that buyers can ask any supplier about. They are not Spark Fiberglass certifications. For potable duty, tell us the resin and lining you need, and we will say what applies and what documentation we can provide for your project.
Wastewater and septic
GRP septic and sewage tanks resist the corrosion that attacks steel and concrete in wastewater service. Spark Fiberglass makes septic tanks and manholes for greywater and sewage systems. Size the tank for your load and confirm whether it will be buried or sit above ground before you order.
Ask for the tank capacity, the installation conditions it is designed for, and how access is provided for inspection and servicing. See our GRP tanks and GRP manholes.
Fire water storage
Fire water tanks hold a reserve for fire suppression systems. Spark Fiberglass lists fire water tanks among its GRP tank range. The approval a fire water tank needs depends on your project and the authority that reviews it, so confirm the requirement before you order.
Ask any supplier which approval your authority requires and request evidence that the tank meets it. Do not assume a general GRP tank qualifies.
Chemical storage and industrial process
GRP chemical tanks suit many process duties, but the right resin depends on the chemical, concentration, and temperature. Spark Fiberglass makes chemical tanks and pipes for industrial and chemical processing plants. Always check chemical compatibility against a resistance chart before you order.
The resin provides most of the chemical resistance. According to TWI, GRP typically uses a polyester or vinyl ester resin. Our guide, what is FRP/GRP, explains how resin choice affects performance.
Oil and gas
Spark Fiberglass makes a specialized tank for the oil and gas sector and FRP fuel tanks. Requirements in this sector vary by client, project, and fluid, so share your specification first. We will confirm what we can supply against it.
Ask any supplier to show how its product meets your client’s specification, not just its marketing description. Spark Fiberglass holds ISO 9001, 14001, and 45001 management-system certifications. These cover how we run the company and are not product approvals.
Construction and infrastructure
Construction and infrastructure projects use GRP where corrosion, weight, or access are concerns. Spark Fiberglass makes manholes, gratings, pultrusion products, and portable toilets for these projects. Match the product to the load, the site, and how long it must stay in place.
- Manholes and gratings: ask for load requirements and the conditions the product will face.
- Pultrusion products: these are constant-profile shapes such as beams and channels, per TWI.
- Portable toilets: our guide to construction site sanitation requirements explains what Saudi law requires and how to size a site.
Transportation and energy
Spark Fiberglass also supplies GRP products for transportation and energy projects, including enclosures for electrical applications. These needs vary widely, so send us your requirement and we will advise whether a standard product fits or whether the work is outside our range.
Why do GRP products suit industries in Saudi Arabia?
GRP suits Saudi conditions because it does not rust and it resists many chemicals, which matters in hot, humid, and coastal environments. It still needs protection from long UV exposure, and its limits depend on the resin. Specify by duty, not by material name.
- Corrosion: TWI lists corrosion and chemical resistance among GRP’s main benefits.
- UV and heat: long sunlight exposure can degrade unprotected surfaces, so ask what UV protection the product carries.
- Weight: a high strength-to-weight ratio can simplify handling and installation.

How do you choose a GRP supplier in any sector?
Choose a supplier by evidence, not description. Ask the same questions in every sector and expect specific, written answers. Vague answers are a warning sign.
- What resin is used, and why is it suited to my duty?
- Which standard is the product built or tested to, and can you show evidence?
- What is the laminate or wall thickness?
- What UV protection does the surface carry?
- Can you supply a chemical resistance chart for my duty?
- What is the lead time to my site?
Frequently Asked Questions
GRP products are used in water treatment and storage, wastewater, chemical storage, oil and gas, construction, infrastructure, transportation, and energy. They suit places where corrosion or weight causes problems for steel and concrete. Spark Fiberglass makes tanks, pipes, manholes, gratings, pultrusion products, and portable toilets for these sectors. Send us your sector and requirement for a recommendation.
Yes, GRP tanks are used for potable water storage. The GSO lists GSO 2443:2014 for underground tanks and GSO 2450:2014 for above-ground tanks. Suitability depends on the resin, the lining, and the documentation behind the tank. Ask any supplier which standard its tank is built to, and request evidence before you order.
Often, yes, but it depends on the chemical, its concentration, and the temperature. The resin provides most of the chemical resistance, so the choice matters. Ask your supplier for a chemical resistance chart for your exact duty before you order. Do not assume one GRP tank suits every chemical.
